We run a series of popular events across West Yorkshire providing useful and practical information and excellent networking opportunities. Last year, more than 450 people attended our events, and we had a massive 35 different speakers on a wide range of environmental topics. Our events attract high profile speakers from the private sector and government initiatives and offer opportunities to see best practice in action.

Martyn’s approach is to “keep it simple and get everyone involved”. The EMS system he runs at HC Slingsby is made useful by being built into everyday work.

Hallmark are a first tier supplier to major high street and grocery retailers with a customer base including M&S, Next, Asda, Tesco, Morrisons and more, so good environmental management is a must-have. Their Environmental Management System has been in place for 12 years. Certified to ISO14001 and encompassing elements of FSC & Carbon Trust Standard requirements, it shows how many requirements can be covered in one system and used to drive objectives into meaningful actions from a top-down approach. Steve delegates responsibility as far as possible so that systems and compliance become routine for all staff, not just the Environmental Manager.
